How hard is the climb?
Long but not technical: most people take two and a half to three hours on the camel path, with tea huts along the way. Camels can carry you part of the way up.
What is the way down?
The camel path again, or the Steps of Repentance, by tradition 3,750 steps cut by monks, steeper and harder on the knees.
Is the monastery open?
Only for short hours, and it closes on some days and religious holidays. We confirm with your quote.
