The Le Fayan I is the larger of the two Le Fayan ships and the one most people mean when they search the name without a number. It carries 57 cabins and three suites over five decks, and its most unusual feature is where the pool sits: on the roof rather than the main sun deck, which is rare on the Nile.
Cabins and suites
Standard cabins run to about 22 square metres with floor-to-ceiling windows, individual air conditioning and a private bathroom. Above those sit three suites: a junior suite, a family suite with its own balcony, and a presidential suite of roughly 80 square metres with a separate bedroom, dining area and private jacuzzi.
On board
The restaurant serves both international and Egyptian menus. There is a spa with massage and sauna, a fitness centre, lounge and deck bars, and the rooftop pool with its own sunbathing area.
Le Fayan I or Le Fayan Suites?
Three names circulate for two ships. This page is the Le Fayan I, also sold as Le Fayan or Le Fayan 1. The ship once called Le Fayan II was rebuilt as an all-suite vessel and now trades as Le Fayan Suites, with 36 Luxury Suites and one Royal Suite.
Choose the Le Fayan I if you want the fuller ship: pool, spa, gym and a wider choice of cabin grades. Choose the Suites if you want more room per guest and far fewer people on deck. Both sail the same stretch of river between Luxor and Aswan.
Route and programmes
The Le Fayan I sails both directions on the classic route, calling at Edfu and Kom Ombo, with 3, 4 and 7 night programmes. Short cruises from Aswan usually start on Monday and those from Luxor on Thursday, but departure days shift by season, so confirm at quote stage.
