HS Solaris I has a more modern interior than its price band
At $465 per person the Solaris I sits just under the standard average. What its listing claims is a newer feel than most ships at this rate, pairing modern fittings with the same classic route everyone else sails.
Interior age is one of the few things photographs actually tell you reliably, so use the gallery on this page rather than the description. Cabin sizes are not published for standard ships in our catalog, so if space matters more to you than decor, ask us for the deck plan before choosing between this and a cheaper option.
Facilities are restaurant, sun deck, lounge and reception, pool listed as available rather than confirmed. It sails Luxor to Aswan via Edfu and Kom Ombo, four or three nights.

Cruise FAQ
What makes HS Solaris I different from other standard ships?
Its interior fittings are more modern than most vessels in this price band. The hull is not new, but the cabins and public areas feel considerably fresher than the typical 1990s standard ship.
Which direction does it sail?
Luxor to Aswan, southbound. Karnak and Luxor Temple first, the West Bank tombs on day two, then Edfu and Kom Ombo before finishing at Philae in Aswan.
What does it cost through the year?
Rates step up through the year: lowest from June to August, a little higher in the May and September shoulder months, higher again in the October to April high season, with Easter and the Christmas and New Year sailings the most expensive dates of all. Send us your dates and we will confirm the exact figure.
Is 4 nights or 3 nights better on this route?
Southbound sailings are usually 4 nights, and that is the better shape: you get a full sailing day between Edfu and Kom Ombo, which is the most relaxed day of the trip.
How big are the excursion groups?
Standard ships carry more guests than luxury vessels, so groups are larger. If hearing the guide clearly matters to you, ask us about a private guide upgrade, which is usually inexpensive.
What is not covered?
Drinks beyond water, tips and gratuities, personal spending, and any Cairo portion. Meals, guided excursions, scheduled temple entrance fees and port taxes are included.
